In the mean time I am working on some small sewing projects, starting with a set of Victorian collars for my dad. These collars literally button onto the shirt, which has a band already attached. I tried this a few years ago without success; however, since then I have learned to draft collars, so I am hoping that this will be a better experience. This morning I got the pattern out that I had been using, and the measurement of the band was not all that different from what I was drafting to, so I decided to make a muslin (mockup) of both:

Hi Cousin, Chris here in Rochester, NY. (I'm the first son of Bill, your parents' first cousin by way of Edna and William Lehfeldt.)
ReplyDeleteVictorian collars? That's a new one. I had no idea that they were still worn today. Shirts without collars still sold today? Do you make the shirts as well for your father?
Best regards, Chris
